Halloween Candy Pairings

We are officially in that time of year where leggings are worn on a daily basis thanks to all of the comfort food and celebrations.  For me this starts mid-September with mine and my best friends’ birthdays, but for most people it begins around Halloween.  Don’t worry, I have been hitting my ClassPass weekly to battle the bulge.  However, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I’m not going to feel guilty about indulging!  To make it a little more interesting, I’ve paired candy with alcohol, I mean, that’s what being an adult is all about, isn’t it?

Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins

Chocolate & peanut butter is one of my top flavor combos right up there with champagne and French fries, obviously depends on the time of day, or so I claim.  I have a weakness for Reese’s cups and luckily so do my in laws.  Every time I go to my future MIL’s house we have Reese’s and Cabernet.

Up for a more wild night?  Jameson shots go very nicely with Reese’s as well.  It’s a trick I’ve been doing for years!

I like this Cab from 90+ Cellars!

Sour Patch Kids

First they’re sour, then they’re sweet.  Drink a Riesling with your favorite bunch of troublemakers.  With most rieslings, they are the opposite of an SPK, first sweet and then can be sour.

This has been my favorite Riesling for years

Snickers

Another vote for cab here, or you can hit a red blend to go with your Snickers.  Sweet, salty, and crunch needs a balanced wine that’s on the drier side to compliment all of the flavors.

Spooky & perfect for your Snickers!

Skittles

Skittles are another addicting treasure.  The fresh fruits like strawberry and watermelon common on a rose or sparkling rose are perfect for tasting the rainbow!

A perfect match for your Skittles!

Candy Corn

A quintessential piece of the Halloween celebration is Candy Corn!  For me I can do about a handful before the sugar becomes too much, but pair it with prosecco to dilute some of the sugar!

In honor of my sister, the LaMarca Queen

Milk Chocolate M&Ms

One very guilty pleasure of mine is a yummy glass of port with dessert.  The milk chocolate goes so nicely with the dried fruits in a tawny port.

Mega splurge here but I just had this on my birthday and fell in love!
